Avetta vs ISNetworld: which does your company need?
June 16, 2026 · 5 min read
If you work with larger owners and general contractors, you have probably been asked to get set up in Avetta or ISNetworld. Both are contractor prequalification platforms, and contractors often confuse the two. Here is how to know which one you actually need.
The short answer: your clients decide
You do not really choose between Avetta and ISNetworld — your hiring clients do. Each platform is used by a different set of owners and general contractors, and you need whichever one your clients require. If a client says "get set up in Avetta," that is your answer.
What they have in common
Underneath, they do the same job. On both, you submit your safety program, injury and incident statistics, insurance certificates, and other documents; the platform reviews them against the hiring client's requirements; and you receive a grade or status the client can see before they let you on site.
Where they actually differ
The meaningful differences are not in what they do, but in:
- Which owners and general contractors use them — this varies by industry and region.
- The details of their review process and how your safety program is graded.
- Pricing structure, which depends on your size and the number of clients connected.
None of that changes the core point: you go where your clients are.
What if different clients use different platforms?
It happens often. A contractor working for several large clients can end up on both Avetta and ISNetworld at the same time, plus the occasional ComplyWorks. That is normal — you maintain an account on each platform your clients use.
The real cost is the upkeep
The subscription is only part of it. The ongoing work — keeping documents current, posting updated stats, responding to review requests, and not letting your grade slip — is where most of the time goes, and where contractors quietly fall off approved lists.
